Junior Finance Analyst – 1 Year Contract

Location: Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose This role supports the Finance Supervisor across all financial operations. The primary focus is managing month-end and quarter-end closing activities across the Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet, while also handling claims, pricing management, and related administrative tasks. Financial Reporting & Forecasting

• Weekly Reports: Prepare and distribute Weekly Shipment and Order Status Reports to the Sales and CS&L (Customer Service & Logistics) teams to facilitate business review and financial forecasting.
• Performance Dashboards: Compile monthly and quarterly financial performance decks and dashboards for management review.
• System Updates: Upload monthly volume, revenue, and Risk & Opportunity (R&O) data into the business planning system.

Month-End & Quarter-End Close

• Journal Entries: Prepare and track journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely posting.
• Closing Analysis: Conduct month-end landing checks and ad-hoc analysis to guarantee the completeness of financial reporting.
• Reconciliations: Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations and variance analysis for Trade Spend, Advertising & Consumer (AnC) promo spend, and Overheads.
• Compliance & Governance: Prepare quarterly Sales Controlling sign-off letters and Revenue Recognition Checklists for submission.
• Team Support: Assist the supervisor with other ad-hoc closing tasks as required.

Overhead & Cost Management

• Forecasting: Submit and track monthly rolling forecasts for overhead costs, managing actuals reconciliations and accrual postings.
• Payroll Cross-Charges: Administer monthly cross-charging processes for Malaysia and Egypt-based employees on the local payroll.
• Credit Management: Oversee the quarterly bad debt review process.

Pricing Administration

• Master Data Management: Maintain the master price list and regularly monitor SKU and category-level margins.
• Pricing Compliance: Set up product price links, track pricing fluctuations, and route approvals in strict accordance with company policies.

Backup Coverage & Operations

• Distributor Sales: Consolidate and submit weekly in-market sales data gathered from regional distributors.
• Regional Reporting: Review and submit monthly Net Revenue landing estimates to the regional finance team.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• 1–2 years of relevant finance or accounting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP or similar finance systems is an advantage
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Good communication skills and a collaborative working style
• Experience in an FMCG or multinational environment is a plus
