Maintenance Engineer (Palm Oil/ Oleochemical)

Location: Port Klang, Selangor

Job Descriptions:

Maintenance Support & Planning:

• Ensure timely and cost-efficient completion of maintenance functions.
• Assist engineers with plant turnaround activities and manage critical machinery maintenance.
• Develop, monitor, and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
• Support engineers by analyzing repair manuals, failure data, and devising action plans to minimize equipment downtime.

Supervision & Coordination:

• Oversee the completion of maintenance tasks, offering support for complex tasks, and ensuring quality control.
• Coordinate with external specialists, contractors, and vendors for maintenance assistance.
• Provide guidance and support to maintenance supervisors and fitters.
• Develop method statements for major and critical maintenance tasks for reference by supervisors and fitters.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

• Monitor maintenance areas, inspecting tools and equipment used by the team.
• Assist in conducting root cause analysis of failures to prevent recurrence.
• Support engineering efforts to analyze equipment or process failures and prepare reports for approval.
• Collaborate with the reliability engineer to implement condition-based maintenance and coordinate with external contractors.

Skill Development & Safety:

• Enhance maintenance staff skills to ensure high safety standards and operational reliability.
• Assist with training programs focused on safety, maintenance procedures, and equipment use.

Additional Tasks & Duties:

• Undertake any other tasks or duties as assigned by supervisors based on operational requirements.

Job Requirements:

To Be Successful In This Role:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 – 5 years of experience in maintenance management, particularly in the palm oil or similar industries.
• Experience in plant turnaround management and supervising machinery maintenance.
• Familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance processes.
