Production Manager (Machinery / Fabrication / Pressure Vessel / Sheet Metal)

Location: Shah Alam, Selangor

Job Descriptions:

Production & Operations Management

• Oversee the entire production process including fabrication, pressure vessel, and sheet metal lines.
• Develop and manage detailed production schedules to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality output.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor workflow to meet project timelines, production targets, and quality standards.
• Ensure efficient use of manpower and material resources.
• Monitor production processes and quality standards, making schedule adjustments as necessary to ensure smooth operations
• Track and improve product standards, production cycle time, and process efficiency.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental guidelines (ISO 14001 EMS).

Team & People Management

• Supervise a team of 7–8 engineers and oversee 30+ foreign and local production workers.
• Handle worker-related issues such as absenteeism, discipline, motivation, and performance.
• Provide counseling, guidance, and foster a culture of teamwork, productivity, and safety.
• Evaluate staff performance and identify training and development needs.

Equipment & Maintenance

• Manage the selection, maintenance, and proper functioning of production equipment.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans to minimize downtime.

Communication & Reporting

• Collaborate closely with top management to align production with company goals and policies.
• Escalate critical issues when necessary and provide regular updates.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure the implementation and continuous compliance with ISO 9001 QMS standards.
• Drive improvement initiatives based on Toyota Production System (TPS) principles.
• Implement productivity enhancements and cost-saving measures to increase operational efficiency.
• Take proactive measures to enhance product and process quality to meet customer satisfaction.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years and above of relevant experience in metal fabrication, machinery, or pressure vessel production.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proven ability to supervise diverse teams, including foreign workers.
• Hands-on experience with Toyota Production System (TPS) or Lean Manufacturing.
