Senior Service Engineer -Data Center (HVAC/Cooling/Thermal)

Location: Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Job Descriptions:

• Supervise and execute the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems such as CRAC units, chillers, and cooling towers within data center environments, ensuring proper setup, integration, and system efficiency.

• Conduct regular maintenance, inspections, calibrations, and repairs of HVAC equipment. Quickly identify and resolve issues related to mechanical, electrical, or refrigerant systems to minimize operational disruptions.

• Continuously monitor HVAC system performance, assess data to detect inefficiencies, and apply improvements to optimize energy usage and maintain stable environmental conditions.

• Advise clients on energy conservation methods and system enhancements to reduce operational costs and support their sustainability initiatives.

• Maintain precise and up-to-date documentation of service activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Provide clients with clear summaries and recommendations.

• Foster strong client relationships through professional consultation on system capacity, thermal strategies, and cooling performance.

• Ensure all service and repair work complies with occupational safety regulations, industry standards, and internal best practices to uphold a safe working environment.

• Respond quickly to emergency situations, prioritizing service restoration to limit downtime in critical data center operations.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Professional certifications or vocational training in HVAC systems are highly desirable.

• Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC field services, particularly within data center or high-performance environments.

• Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, including CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers, and thermal management technologies.

• Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues.

• Skilled in using HVAC diagnostic tools and software such as temperature sensors, airflow meters, and Building Management Systems (BMS).

• Knowledge of data center infrastructure, including energy efficiency best practices and thermal load management.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and effective time management skills.

• Committed to safety compliance and best practices in all field operations.
