Legal Advisor cum PA

Job Overview

  • Salary RM8,000 - RM12,000

Location: Muar, Johor

Reporting To : Managing Director

Job Descriptions:

  • Provide expert legal advice on various legal matters including corporate, commercial, regulatory, employment, and contractual matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Identify potential legal risks and provide strategies to mitigate those risks while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated with new legislation and ensure the company’s policies and practices comply with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
  • Support the Managing Director in ensuring effective corporate governance, advising on compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Understand financial statements, particularly Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, and provide legal advice that aligns with the company’s financial objectives.
  • Offer guidance on how legal decisions could impact financial outcomes, including profitability, budgeting, and overall financial health.
  • Maintain and manage the calendar, scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements.
  • Arrange and manage travel itineraries, including booking flights, hotels, and transportation.
  • Perform other administrative duties as delegated.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution or professional qualification is preferred.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing with relevant legal associations.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and P&L analysis.
  • Experience in managing external legal counsel and handling litigation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to interpret and advise based on P&L impacts.
  • Able to travel alongside the Managing Director for business meetings.
