GL Accountant

Location: Masai, Johor

Job Descriptions:

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, bank reconciliation, accounts closing, and month-end activities.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial reports to support management decision-making and business operations.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of SST, tax returns, and other statutory requirements in accordance with Malaysian regulations.
• Support the annual budgeting process, financial forecasting, and cost monitoring to improve overall financial performance.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and relevant regulatory authorities when required.
• Maintain proper accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a dynamic or fast-paced business environment.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), Malaysian tax regulations, SST, and statutory requirements.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting processes.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Good time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive, responsible, and willing to learn and take on new challenges.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications will be an added advantage.
