Manager (EHS)

Location: Tebrau, Johor

Job Descriptions:

• Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and corporate standards.
• Drive continuous improvement strategies to enhance workplace safety, prevent incidents, and promote a strong safety culture across the organization.
• Oversee and ensure effective risk assessments, hazard identification, and control measures are carried out consistently.
• Lead and manage incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor EHS audits, inspections, scheduled waste management, workplace monitoring, employee health checks, and legal compliance audits.
• Serve as the primary liaison with government authorities and regulatory agencies (DOE, DOSH, MBJB, BOMBA, JBA), ensuring timely reporting and compliance with all requirements.
• Manage and maintain security, sewage, and environmental monitoring systems to meet operational and legal standards.
• Develop, review, and deliver training programs to employees and management, ensuring awareness and understanding of EHS requirements and best practices.
• Provide strategic recommendations to senior management on EHS risks, compliance issues, and resource requirements.
• Lead and mentor the EHS team, building capability and ensuring effective execution of all EHS initiatives.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
• 8–12 years of progressive EHS experience, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory/management role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Certified Safety Officer (DOSH Green Book Holder) preferred.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to liaise with regulators and senior management.
• Excellent knowledge of local EHS legislation and international safety standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.).
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
