Electrical Project Engineer (FMCG/Food & Beverage/Thermal processing/Packaging/Utilities)

Location: Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Job Descriptions:

Project Planning and Management:

• Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets.

Engineering Design and Development:

• Create engineering designs, technical drawings, and specifications for manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities.
• Conduct feasibility studies and perform cost-benefit analyses.
• Research, identify, and procure the necessary equipment and machinery.
• Collaborate with consultants, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure design alignment with project objectives.
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of equipment.

Project Execution, Control, Monitoring, and Closure:

• Coordinate project resources and activities to ensure timely execution.
• Supervise equipment installation and commissioning to meet project requirements.
• Execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) in line with company standards.
• Enforce project quality standards and ensure completion of punch lists before final handover.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.
• Conduct safety assessments and implement risk management practices.
• Develop and oversee safety protocols and training programs.

Stakeholder Communication:

• Provide regular updates and communicate project progress to stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
• Track project progress and proactively identify potential risks or delays.
• Monitor project expenditures and explore cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage project budgets and ensure timely processing of payments.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing capital-intensive and complex projects within a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Strong expertise in capital financing, project management, and technical engineering—covering both electrical and mechanical design.
• Comprehensive knowledge of process manufacturing systems; experience in thermal processing, packaging, or utilities is highly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
• Proven leadership abilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solid understanding of DOSH, OSHA standards, and relevant machinery regulations.
• Capable of working cross-functionally, leading diverse teams, and effectively influencing stakeholders to implement and manage strategic initiatives.
