GL Accountant (Shared Service)

Location: TTDI, Kuala Lumpur

Job Descriptions:

The General Ledger Accountant provides general ledger transactional processing support to deliver general ledger, treasury, bank reconciliation and bank journals to both Australia and New Zealand with Company policies, processes, work procedure, legal and statutory requirements. This role will ensure that timelines and quality meet the agreed service levels and targets.

• Manage the daily entry of financial data into the general ledger system, ensuring all entries are accurate, complete, and supported by appropriate documentation.
• Maintain strict compliance with the company’s established internal control framework to uphold a secure and reliable control environment.
• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries, ensuring all financial transactions comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account closing procedures, including necessary accruals and adjustments to ensure financial activities are recorded within the correct accounting periods.
• Conduct thorough reconciliations of all general ledger accounts during the month-end process, resolving discrepancies to ensure the financial records accurately reflect the company’s financial status.
• Support the ‘Record to Report’ process by providing detailed financial data and valuable insights for management reporting.
• Collaborate with departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Tax, and Treasury to integrate their financial data seamlessly into the general ledger, enhancing the efficiency of financial reporting.
• Assist in preparing for internal and external audits by providing comprehensive general ledger data, account analyses, and financial reports.
• Develop and implement updated general ledger procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and GAAP.

Job Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or relevant Professional Qualification (ACCA / CPA / CIMA / MIA / ICAEW)
• At least 2-3 years’ relevant experience in accounting function
• Good understanding of accounting principles, standards, financial statements, and reports
• Able to work effectively as a member in multi-functional teams
• Experienced in dealing with key stakeholders
• Computer literate with basic knowledge in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in English with good communication and writing skills
