Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Job Descriptions:

• Responsible for designing, developing, and testing innovative water heating solutions.
• Provide 3D drawings, including water heater’s front cover and internal parts.
• Utilize 3D rendering skills to create rendered images for customer requests.
• Convert 3D drawings to 2D for display box front artwork purposes and printed circuit board dimensions.
• Design and edit sketches using Adobe Illustrator for tasks such as printing user manuals and touching up 2D water heater models.
• Utilize Photoshop to edit urgent matters, such as customer’s display box drawings (removing parts, etc.).
• Coordinate with the prototyping team to build and test prototypes of new water heater designs.
• Conduct testing to ensure compliance with TISI standards.
• Follow up on sample requests, ensuring to meet the criteria test cycle.
• Prepare and conduct minor engineering tests and create detailed test reports.
• Assemble instant water heaters from start to finish to ensure functionality and compliance with design specifications.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Communicate design concepts and progress to suppliers through presentations and reports.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Ability to sketch wire harness drawings and 2D schematic water heater diagrams.
• Problem-solving skills to address and troubleshoot malfunctioning water heaters.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in product design and development, preferably within the HVAC or Water Heater manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA).
• Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
